Week 3 Big Data

One of the main reasons that I choose to take this class was because I’ve always been interested in the evolution of technology and how it effects our societies growth. When I think back at my childhood and how I grew up in the 90’s it amazes me as to how much technology has evolved from beepers to iPhone X, Xr? My point is that technology is evolving so fast that as soon as we come out of the store with what we think is a “new” product there is a newer one already being manufactured to replace it. It seems that we are so consumed in keeping up to date with new products that things like internet privacy concerns, what consumer data is truly being used for and state surveillance is the least of people’s worries.   In one of this week’s watch videos called  “Why Privacy Matters” by Glenn Greenwald , he speaks about how the way people use the internet can cause for it to in turn become somewhat of a double edge sword.
